BauMont was founded in 2017 by four partners, Robert Balick, Frederic Laurent, Serge Maton and Eric Salmon, following an amicable spin out from CarVal Investors. BauMont’s managing partners, Robert Balick and Frederic Laurent, have a strong attributable track record of generating top quartile risk-adjusted returns across several market cycles, including in times of great uncertainty and capital vacuums.
One of the Firm’s key strengths is the experience and network of the Partners, who, together, bring a broad set of skills and are highly regarded within the French and UK markets as experienced and trusted investors. Operating out of offices in London and Paris, BauMont primarily invests in France and the UK, with dedicated investment teams for both countries.
The firm has 18 employees across the investment, asset management, investor relations and finance and operations teams.
Our investment strategy
BauMont Real Estate invests with a quintessential value-add approach, utilising deep local market sourcing avenues to acquire investments from motivated or distressed sellers. The team completes detailed pre-acquisition due diligence, formulating comprehensive value creation business plans to deliver attractive long term results.
The investment strategy aims to build flexible and defensive portfolios of assets across the office, residential and logistics sectors, with select exposure to large format retail.
